ART
ABOUT THE COLLECTION - A Few Words from The Artist The art pieces in this Exhibition truly express my love for portraiture and colours. I examine beauty in an enhanced manner. I believe everyone is different and in each piece I have tried to create unique portraits that convey this.
Although there’s a strong sense of unity in the fact that most of the pieces are portraits, this collection also shows my confusion of what subject matter to address. My pieces range from portraits (e.g. Judy) to fashion illustrations (e.g. Korédé Black) to more conscious work (e.g. Anti-Government Assassins, I’m Not What You Think). More so, my photographs are mostly about my surroundings.
I believe the main reason behind this broad subject matter has to do with practise. Mastering the skill of interpreting what I see and putting it on a material gives me better control of what I really would like to express.
So in this Exhibition it’s important to realise that this is ‘The Search’ for not only understanding myself physically but also intellectually.
